Our Crazy/Genius Plan

So, in case you haven't heard, we recently bought an RV (hence the blog title). This is either the best or craziest thing Josh and I have ever done, only time will tell.

About 3 years ago we toyed with the idea of getting an RV and living in it full time for a while and traveling. The kids wouldn't be in school yet, I could work as a travel nurse or just take some time off and Josh can work from anywhere as long as he has internet and his laptop. I thought it was totally crazy back then but also intriguing. The timing ended up not working out then but we've always had in the back of our minds to get an RV even if just for occasional trips.

Once we decided that we would be moving Josh brought up the RV idea again as a possible solution to some of the issues we were concerned about. For those of you who have ever moved you know it can be stressful and timing is out of your hands. We wanted to let the kids finish out the school year if possible but we also wanted to get our house listed and sold quickly. With no idea how long it will take to sell having the RV as an option seemed like a pretty good idea. So now, no matter when the house sells we have the RV to stay in. It has also helped us minimize the clutter you tend to accumulate over the years.

Stay tuned for more pictures, and maybe even a video tour, of the RV and what it's like as a family of 5 (plus a dog) living full time in an RV.
